H.R.H. Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Grants Audience to Agencies’ Executives to Present Donation for the Information Technology Foundation under the Initiative of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn (PSIT)
20 October 2022: At Meeting room, 1st floor, Royal Library Building, Srapathum Palace, Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn graciously granted a royal audience to Prof. Dr. Pairash Thajchayapong, Member of the Executive Board and Secretary General of the Information Technology Foundation under the Initiative of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn (PSIT) and executives of companies/agencies to present donation to support PSIT work as follows:
- National Office of Buddhism, supports the budget for the operation of the “Pali-Online Project”, amounting to 2,000,000 baht
- The Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited (HSBC), supports the budget for the implementation of the project to strengthen the capacity of teachers and students in the Border Patrol Police School and children and youth in the Juvenile Observation and Protection Center, amounting to 2,238,820 baht
- The Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA), supports the budget for the implementation of ICT projects for lifelong learning for the community in the border area (expanded to 2 locations), amounting to 3,987,500 baht
- Jai Krating Foundation, supports the budget for the implementation of digital and science projects to study the local environment, amounting to 588,000 baht
- SVOA Public Company Limited, supports 21 desktop computers for Pathaivittaya Kindergarten School. (Chaipattana Foundation), valued at 346,500 baht
- Mrs. Yingrak Sirisingha, supports the budget for the operation/work of PSIT, amounting to 510,000 baht
PSIT’s scope of work includes two main areas: 1) Science and technology and information technology for education and development of the underprivileged. Activities focused on giving the opportunity for students, teachers, researchers, scientists to increase their knowledge and academic experience in science and technology through various activities such as training, research, field visits, as well as continuing education to a higher level in order to bring the knowledge and experience gained to be used in developing the country, and 2) ICT for the underprivileged. Activities focused on application of ICT to improve the quality of life and increase educational opportunities for the underprivileged.
